Privacy

This site is run by the editorial team of the International LADR Workshop on behalf of the Journal of Legal Affairs and Dispute Resolution in Engineering and Construction. We collect as little personal data as we can, and we explain here exactly what we do with it.

What we collect and why

Abstract submissions. When you submit an abstract we collect your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, organization, the names and emails of any co-authors you list, and the abstract text. We use this to review your submission, to contact you about it, and, if accepted, to invite you to submit a manuscript. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in organizing the workshop and, for the content of your submission, the steps you ask us to take before entering into a publishing agreement.

Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse. We store a one-way hash of the IP address with each submission, for a limited period, purely to detect automated abuse.

Visit statistics. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which tells us which pages are read, how often, and from which country and referring site. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not identify or follow individual visitors.

Nothing else. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie this site ever sets is the one that keeps the editorial team signed in to the reviewer area; ordinary visitors never receive a cookie.

Who sees it

Your submission is stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare, and the editorial team reads it on this site. It is not emailed to them: they receive a daily summary listing only reference numbers and titles. A copy of what you entered is emailed to you as your confirmation, and the decision on your abstract is emailed to you when it is made. Emails are sent through Resend. Email you send to info@ladrworkshop.com or abstracts@ladrworkshop.com is forwarded by Cloudflare to the editorial team’s own inboxes. Cloudflare and Resend act as data processors under agreement with us. Data is stored and processed in the United States; both providers offer standard contractual clauses for transfers from the European Economic Area.

We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else. Accepted papers proceed to ASCE’s Editorial Manager, which has its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Abstract submissions are retained until twelve months after the workshop to which they relate, then deleted. You may ask us to delete a submission earlier at any time.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or United Kingdom you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email info@ladrworkshop.com.

Spam protection

The submission form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile runs a short, invisible check in your browser and does not set cookies or track you across sites. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
