Privacy

This site is run by the editorial team of the International LADR Workshop on behalf of the Journal of Legal Affairs and Dispute Resolution in Engineering and Construction. We collect as little personal data as we can, and we explain here exactly what we do with it.

What we collect and why

Abstract submissions. When you submit an abstract we collect your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, organization, the names and emails of any co-authors you list, and the abstract text. We use this to review your submission, to contact you about it, and — if accepted — to invite you to submit a manuscript. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in organizing the workshop and, for the content of your submission, the steps you ask us to take before entering into a publishing agreement.

Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse. We store a one-way hash of the IP address with each submission, for a limited period, purely to detect automated abuse.

Nothing else. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. The only cookie this site ever sets is a short-lived one used by the editorial team to access the reviewer area; ordinary visitors never receive a cookie.

Who sees it

Submissions are emailed to the three members of the editorial team and stored in a database hosted by Cloudflare. Emails are sent through Resend. Both act as data processors under agreement with us. Data may be processed in the United States; both providers offer standard contractual clauses for transfers from the European Economic Area.

We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else. Accepted papers proceed to ASCE’s Editorial Manager, which has its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Abstract submissions are retained until twelve months after the workshop to which they relate, then deleted. You may ask us to delete a submission earlier at any time.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or United Kingdom you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email info@ladrworkshop.com.

Spam protection

The submission form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. Turnstile runs a short, invisible check in your browser and does not set cookies or track you across sites. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
